Jamhuri Classic Joins the Ranks of USGA Authorized Clubs
What does that mean and why should you care?
Handicapping
It means that the handicaps you get through Jamhuri Classic will be recognized anywhere as a USGA approved handicap. You can use it to enter any USGA sanctioned competitions or any competitions requiring a USGA approved handicap (of which most competitions in the US do). If you maintain your handicap index, you can check to see if it will be recognized as a USGA approved handicap by checking either of the following links:

Jamhuri Classic is now on the USGA site as an accredited Club by GSGA.
If the internet site or club you use for your handicapping is not on either of these lists, you are carrying an unofficial handicap and will not be accepted in many tournaments and competitions in the US. Jamhuri Classic will gradually move away from accepting unofficial handicaps in its tournaments after a short transition period that will allow us to educate our members on the benefits of having an official USGA approved handicap.

As a GSGA associate member club, Jamhuri Classic handicaps will be maintained on GHIN. You will be able to post your scores online at your earliest convenience by going to http://www.ghin.com. In addition to the convenience of internet posting, GHIN has an eGolfer portal. You can register yourself on the eGolf portal free of charge. The eGolf portal will help you improve your game as it gives you the ability to keep detailed stats on your game and you can analyze on your own or with the help of a golf pro to see areas you need to devote more time on. The eGolf portal works in concert with the GHIN handicapping further giving you the option to enter scores on the portal that will directly be routed to GHIN handicapping.

In addition to handicapping and the eGolf portal, the following are benefits you will enjoy by getting your handicap through Jamhuri Classic:
– you will receive the Georgia Golf Magazine six times a year
– you will be eligible for recognition awards thru the GSGA Awards and Recognition Program
– you will be eligible to enter any of the GSGA competitions
– you will be eligible for the GSGA RewardLinks Program – thru this program you will receive member only discount from many of GSGA partners
– you will NOT be required to submit your handicap information for Jamhuri Classic tournaments – we’ll already have it on our database!

Handicapping Cost
For members of Jamhuri Classic the cost is $29.95 per year (compared to $50 in many other golf clubs)
