Nash Continues First Time Winner Trend sponsored by

Nash Alexander extended the recent first time winner trend on JC tour. Nash handled the cold weather and wind well shooting a net score of 72 to take the November Turkey home. Monthly top five players Tito Mbugua and Tony Chavez had another great showing taking the second and third positions respectively. Tito Mbugua also won the low gross Turkey with a gross score of 86.

Essa Thomas however still holds a firm grip on the Rebo points standing followed closely by Peter Mwaniki and Tony Chavez respecitvely.

The tournament was market with a large number of first or second time guests. Suthan Cobkit, Jerry Scott, Denis Powell, Ansu Badjie, Saif, Sekou, Eric Laval, Arnold, and Gerald Jennings. Welcome to the Jamhuri.

On a different note, the move by JC to play the tournament from two different tee boxes for different handicap groups proved to be effective. It cut the playing time by 45 minutes from our regular time. In December, we’ll introduce the stableford format which should further improve the playing time and help us wrap the tournaments within 4.5 to 5 hours consistently.

New Membership Rules 2011-2012

As Jamhuri Classic continue’s it’s 6th year, we have to discuss the importance of membership. We have been very fortunate to continue the tradition of playing monthly tournaments for our members and guests for 64 straight months.

Let’s be realistic, tournaments cost money to organize. There is an expense with trophies, gifts and marketing. We are grateful to our sponsors for covering the majority of the cost of each event. However, our membership dues is what keeps Jamhuri Classic rolling.

Benefits:

Only members in good standing participate in low net trophy presentation
Only members in good standing participate in low gross trophy presentation
Only members in good standing are eligible for Rebo Points
All members in good standing will start getting additional benefits (Announcements coming soon!)
You don’t have to be a member to play the tournament
All players get course rate
Non members pay an extra $5 cash at the course payable to Jamhuri Classic
Guests are welcomed at the additional $5
Membership is $45/year (it’s only $3.75/month)

As a GSGA associate member club, Jamhuri Classic handicaps will be maintained on GHIN. You will be able to post your scores online at your earliest convenience by going to http://www.ghin.com. In addition to the convenience of internet posting, GHIN has an eGolfer portal. You can register yourself on the eGolf portal free of charge. The eGolf portal will help you improve your game as it gives you the ability to keep detailed stats on your game and you can analyze on your own or with the help of a golf pro to see areas you need to devote more time on. The eGolf portal works in concert with the GHIN handicapping further giving you the option to enter scores on the portal that will directly be routed to GHIN handicapping.
